2006 Miami Pen & Watch Show Gallery
by Joe Engel

The Miami Pen & Watch Show
July 7-9, 2006, at the Biltmore Hotel
1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables, FL

Thursday afternoon: In minutes, it seemed, the sunny skies opened up, providing this rainy, windy, midsummer view from the Biltmore's front balcony.

Thursday, 30 minutes later... That's Miami for you. Actually that's downtown Coral Gables in the distance.

This way to the Grand Ballroom... and the pens!

The stairway to pen heaven.

The ballroom is filled with anticipation Friday morning as the dealers start to wander in and set up.

Supermodels, Cathryn and Carole Oser grace the PenWorld table during dealer setup.

Bert's back in the Biltmore Hotel Grand Ballroom…and so is the Miami Pen& Watch Show.

The always-dapper David Oscarson.

Susan Wirth explains how to choose the right nib in a workshop during the show on Saturday.

Ryan Davidson, of Michel Perchin shows off their line of Lalex watches.

Michael Hochstetler and Bert discuss the fine points (and mediums) of Michael's first fountain pen, the limited edition Black Comet.

John Colton with a selection of great new pens and limited editions.

Alan and Lillian Gross of Pens Plus. Wonder where they got the name," Allian." No matter. They've got fabulous limited edition and hand-painted pens.

Lee Chait of Parker75.com.

An understandably pleased Craig Bozorth with the exceptional, and very unusual, Parker 51 display that he painstakingly restored.

Craig Bozorth makes a few notes as he prepares for the show to open.

Roger Cromwell is happily doing repairs at the show...

Pictures of the late Henry Bladen, a Parker rep in from the late 1940s to the '70s, on top of just a few of the hundred-plus lot of brand new old-stock pens being offered at the show by his son, Don as a complete lot in a silent auction at the Miami Pen Show. The lot includes a Spanish Treasure Pen in the original box, a Sterling Parker 75 Keepsake (smooth finish) salesman's case, and a lot of treasures. It goes to the highest bidder by the end of the show.

The Bladens with some of his late father's Parker factory accumulation, being sold as a single lot.

A few of the lot of new old stock Parker pens that were silently sold to the highest bidder.

Harry Bladen's Spanish Treasure and smooth-finish Sterling Parker 75 Keepsake.

Harry Spirytus with some of his superb selection of vintage and modern pens.

David Ushkow with great stuff from Pen-Site.com.

Collector Howard Newman with pens.

Michelle and Joel Caney of Light Reading.com in Philadelphia. They sell rare books as well as great pens.

Live, from Sao Paolo, Brazil, Wilmes Teixeira and his amazing Toledo overlay.

Holy Toledo, Wilmes! It's real. And it's spectacular.

Our own (former Bertram's Store Manager) Ken Jones, thoroughly enjoying his
new job as National Sales Manager for Visconti.

David Issacson showing off his wit, wisdom, and wonderful pens.

Steve Mandel makes a case for having great pens.

Hildegarde (Bert Oser's mom) and Rhoda (Craig Bozorth's Mother-in-Law) kept customers smiling as they came through the door.

Frédéric Ribemon of Paris, shows off some the fascinating new wooden pens
from French master wood craftsman, Elie Bleu.

A closer look at the colorful new wooden pens from Elie Bleu of Paris.

Danean Dymond of Aurora, Bert Oser, and Dick Kane of Aurora present an Aurora Sole Minima Limited Edition BallPont to Saturday's top prize-winner, Roxana Alvarez or Hialeah, Florida. Roxana, an avid collector of modern pens, will add this little treasure to her collection. "I love pens! I love writing! I love inks! And I love this little pen!"
